Worte eines Genies ...

"Ich habe keine besondere Begabung, sondern bin leidenschaftlich neugierig", sagde Albert Einstein. Det stod skrevet over Humboldt-universitetets facade (Berlin) i anledning af, at det i år er Einstein-år. Det kunne jeg ikke have sagt bedre selv ...

Words of a genius

"....

River, show me how to float. I feel like I'm sinking down.
Thought, that I could get along;
But here in this water my feet won't touch the ground.

Words of a .... genius ....?

John Wright does many good things. E.g. he sings wonderfully - and he picks wonderfull songs to sing. He often, with regret, reminds his public, that he is not a songwriter himself. So instead he draws our attention to a number of great songwriters. And lately he has opened my ears to Beth Nielsen Chapman. John has recorded at least two of her songs, i.e. on the CD's with JW I have.

An example of her brilliant poetry are these lines from her song "All for the Love" (which is the last track on the JW's CD "Songdance".

"For this we shed our skin
Feel where each breath begins
Bleed as we pick the rose
Fall back with both eyes closed"

I think, I have to discover more of Beth Nielsen Chapman's songs!
